Electrical Safety Survey
Next month, Cole Electrical will be conducting FREE electrical safety checks throughout the Derby area. To qualify for this service, you must be the home owner, and your home must be at least 20 years old.
The check will take less than an hour and will not cause any mess. We will visually inspect your fuseboard, earthing and wiring installation to see if these comply with the electrical safety regulations. We check if the wiring is in a sound condition generally. We will also test your RCD, smoke alarms, test your earthing if applicable. Any shortcomings identified will be detailed on our report, which will be given to you. You are NOT OBLIGED to have any remedial work carried out that we recommend.

Is there really no charge..?
Yes the Electrical Safety Check is 100% free, you will not be charged for the service.
What will the electrician be checking for?
A qualified, competent electrician will visually check your home ensuring that your electrical installation adheres to current guidelines for safety. This is carried out with a view to protecting you and your home from the risk of electric shock and fire.
What else will i get?
After the electricians inspection of your electrical system, you will be issued with a written report detail their findings. The electrician will also be able to explain any questions that you may have about your system.
How long will it take?
You can expect the electrician to be finished within 30 minutes.
What can I expect in the visit?
When the electrician visits your home you can expect him to be professional and friendly. He will firstly want to see your electrical fuse box / board and then will want to take a brief walk around the property viewing the electrical fittings. If any room is not suitable for entry please advise the electrician who will be sure to co-operate.
Will I understand any ‘jargon’, it can be confusing.
Our electrician will have leaflets available to explain any difficult concepts or risks that you may wish to understand, we aim to make things easy for you and always try to avoid technical jargon.
Why is the Safety Check free?
The Electrical Safety Council for the UK is currently undertaking a major campaign to increase the current electrical safety levels in our homes. We have been equally concerned about the safety of electrical systems across our region and have therefore decided to provide this initiative to help our community be safer.

Yes, we are members of NAPIT (Nation Assosiation of Professional Inspectors and Testers) membership no 120784. We are also members of the Trustmark scheme. You can rest assured that we are competent and professional in what we do.
